L. James O'Gilvie began his dance education with Boston Ballet School’s City Dance Program. He was then invited to join their Classical Ballet program progressing to the Pre-Professional Program. While a student at Boston Ballet School, James performed as a Party Boy in The Nutcracker for 3 years. In 2017, following a summer studying at The Ailey School's Summer Intensive Program in New York, James was inspired to expand his dance education with other genres and joined Urbanity Dance as a student, Youth Company member and a Junior Apprentice with the Urbanity Underground Company. In the same year, James was invited to perform with Peter DiMuro/ Public Displays of Motion with Landmark Orchestra at the Hatch Shell and the Illuminous Festival in Downtown Crossing. He is excited to continue his work with the company in the 2018-19 season.
