Shannon Humphreys grew up dancing in Orlando, FL, received a BA (Hons) in Dance from the University of Surrey in Guildford, England and has performed on the east coast with theater groups, opera companies, at the Orlando International Fringe Festival, and with regional ballet and modern dance companies in Florida including Southern Ballet Theatre (now Orlando Ballet), Demetrius Klein & Dancers and Voci Dance. For the last two decades she has been a member of Weber Dance, performing the work of Jody Weber in communities across the United States. Shannon was also featured in the documentary film "Finding Heaven Under Our Feet: Making Modern Dance" by Chris Engles. She has also performed at the Institute of Contemporary Art Boston in work by Trisha Brown, Heidi Latsky and Faye Driscoll, and appeared as a guest artist with Peter DiMuro’s Public Displays of Motion. Shannon serves on the Boards of Directors of Weber Dance, as well as the Brickbottom Artists Association, and coordinates the artist-in-residence program at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard.
