Irene Lutts’s dancing has been described by The Boston Globe as “a rich mix of grounded yet elastic grace and snappy one-liners.” She has been a Boston-area performer her whole life. Her early ballet training began in her hometown of Quincy and continued with the Chambers Ballet Company of Randolph. After earning her BA from UMass/Boston, she danced with a number of area companies and choreographers including the Caitlin Corbett Dance Company, Daniel McCusker, Lorraine Chapman The Company, Weber Dance, the Marcus Schulkind Dance Company, the Nicola Hawkins Dance Company, Back Porch Dance Company, Brian Crabtree, and Kelli Edwards Dance among others. Currently, Irene works with Dances by Isadora Boston, with whom she performed at Jacob’s Pillow in 2017, in addition to Peter DiMuro/Public Displays of Motion. Her teaching credits include the Boston Ballet Center for Dance Education and the Topf Center for Dance Education. Her own choreography has been presented in Cambridge, Massachusetts and in Portland, Maine.
